Rede Aberta high-capacity connectivity in Galicia and Europe.
We are a Galician telecommunications operator, specialized in deploying high-capacity fiber optic networks in rural areas, industrial estates and business hubs. We are part of the CEBF Fund's fibre projects, which is in 7 European countries and has 555 million euros to exclusively promote digital infrastructure in Europe.
OurHistory
2024
We went much further.
In 2024 we reached our first agreement with a foreign ISP and in October we reached 300,000 homes deployed. We won a grant from IGAPE for the creation of a neutral point in Galicia (Galnix) with two other partners.
2023
We are moving forward with our expansion.
In March 2023 we reached 150,000 houses deployed, a great milestone for our project. In August we signed the first contract with a national ISP and in October we won the Unico 2023 grant in the provinces of A Coruña and Pontevedra.
2022
Rede Aberta goes one step further.
In January 2022 we reached 10 contracts with operators. In September we launched the XGSPON technology and in October we won the Unico 2022 grant in the province of A Coruña.
2021
First user online.
In February 2021, our project grew a little more when our clients connected to our network for the first time.
2020
Rede Aberta is born
En julio del 2020 nace Rede Aberta, un proyecto gallego que nace con la vocación de favorecer el desarrollo económico y tecnológico en el medio rural. In December of this year, work began on deploying the network and the first contract was signed with an ISP.
We make fiber available to operators so they can provide service to homes and businesses.
We pay special attention to small local businesses and our goal is to deploy high-capacity fiber to eradicate the digital divide that exists with urban areas.

At Rede Aberta we promote digital equality for all citizens.
We work to ensure that all citizens have the same digital opportunities and rights for business entrepreneurship, teleworking, access to telemedicine, administrative services, leisure and culture, regardless of where they live.
Our goal is to deploy high-capacity fiber in rural areas to attract the population and boost opportunities for companies to compete on equal terms.
