Rede Aberta has begun work to deploy ultra-fast fibre optics in the rural area of Valdoviño. To do so, the company will extend its network from Narón to Valdoviño, work that is expected to last until spring.
In order to sign up for fibre optics, households and businesses must contact one of the local operators such as: 7 Play, A Túa Xanela, Aúrea Telecom, Evoa, IT Sarria, Itegal, Juifi, Planeta Voz, Eume Telecom, Grelo, Oteuoperador, Pizpireta Telecom or Toxo Telecom. Rede Aberta, which has been in operation for two years, is present in 49 rural municipalities in Galicia. It has laid more than 2,000 kilometres of cable to provide neutral fibre optic service and reach more than 125,000 homes.
In addition, it is the successful bidder for the deployment of the UNICO plan of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation for the province of A Coruña, which involves bringing high-capacity fiber optics to 36,556 homes in rural areas.
